Front edge of nitrobenzene Chinese "spot" has reached Komsomolsk-na-Amure town on Wednesday morning. In this view operative staff has transferred the base from Amursk to Komsomolsk.
As Far East regional center of Russian Emergency Ministry informed, operative staff will accompany the "spot" till Amur estuary, where the river flows into the Okhotsk Sea.
The length of chemical containing spot exceeds 190 km. Therefore, the toxic "spot" still passes Amursk town, which is 77 km above Komsomolsk.
Numerous analyses of water tests during several last days testify that content of chemical compounds doesn`t exceed the maximum allowable concentration.
By estimate of experts, concentration of harmful chemical substances significantly reduces while movement of spot along the river. Therefore, authorities of Komsomolsk-na-Amure decided not to turn off cold and hot tap water while passing of the spot.
"Long before front edge of pollution has reached Amursk, water-purifying filters in water supply points were intensified. Activated coal was inserted in technological scheme of river water refinement. Analogous measures were taken in Komsomolsk-na-Amure", - noticed the source.
The majority of villages on the riverside of Amur are supplied with drinking water from wells. While spot passes settlements, supplied with water from Amur, automobiles will deliver drinking water from autonomous sources.
